I am a 23 year old student currently studying for my Masters in Psychology. I am a motivational speaker and radio show host who loves performing worship dances, engaging in fashion shoots and styling natural hair.
The organisation is close to my heart as i myself was a victim of sexual abuse which led to years of battling with clinical depression and suicidal attempts. Embarrassed and ashamed, i was silenced, but now i have been given the opportunity to be your voice! You are not alone!
My name is Gerard and I presently work and volunteer in the community sector with various groups including issue based, recreational and project based environments. Most of my involvements are aimed towards helping young people to fulfil their potentials and fit comfortably into being effective contributors to their local societies. I am passionate about Justice For The Silenced, most victims feel separated from their society and i believe encouraging them to speak out about the abuse, will equip them with courage to live life to the fullest.
My name is Iram Shafiq. I am 20 years old and currently studying Msc in Pharmacology at the Strathclyde University, Glasgow. Ever since i became aware of this organisation, i was simply intrigued to learn more and to be a part of a group which helps the vulnerable. I have always been a firm believer in bringing justice to the deserved, thus this organisation and what it stands for has become very important to me.
Angella Berrocan, 22 years old. I'm currently studying pharmacy at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. "You cannot uneducate the person who has learned to read. You cannot humiliate the person who feels pride. You cannot oppress the people who are not afraid anymore."- With this in mind I feel that every individual has the right and strength to fight for what they believe in. I personally believe that any form of abuse mainly sexual abuse should not be tolerated. Coming from a country were rape is blamed on the victims not perpetrators and were rape cases are never prosecuted to the end. I want to be the voice of those victims who can not speak up for them selves. My soul goal is to empower women and men all over to have a stand and promote a society that can support rape victims to be able to speak out with out being threatened, blamed or judged.
My name is Leah Sibindi, I am 25 years old and I study Business at Glasgow Clyde College. My passion is helping others, I'm kind hearted and abuse is something close to home for me. I want to support those who have been through this same traumatic experience. It hurts to think that as I am writing this someone is getting abused! I have spent so many years of my life asking myself questions I still can not answer. I want to say to you "SPEAK OUT" , Someone WILL listen".
